How to Send Referrals
  1. Click the green “Send Referral” button in the left sidebar
  2. Specify where you would like the referral sent to (Realay Platinum Agent (default), an Associate or a specific Network)
  3. Enter client’s information and fill out referral form
  4. Click “Send”
  1. Go to “Your Users” on the left sidebar
  2. Select “Add New Agent” at the top
  3. Enter Team Member’s info
  4. Select “Add”
  1. Go to “My Team” on the left sidebar
  2. Click the pencil icon in user’s “Type” column
  3. Select “Referring Agent, “Network Agent” or “Team Leader”
  4. Click “Change”
  1. Go to “Networks” on the left sidebar
  2. Find the network you would like to join and click “Join”
  3. Once you are a member of a network, you will be eligible to send and receive referrals within that network

Please do not join networks that you are not affiliated with.

Quality referrals consist of potential clients whom you have thoroughly screened, irrespective of the origin of the initial inquiry, and are now expanding beyond your coverage area. These referrals represent superior opportunities as you are directing them to another agent based on the expectation that these clients will engage in buying or selling a home within a relatively short timeframe.

Please don’t place the following clients into the Realay platform:

  1. A casual statement such as “I’m moving to ‘XX’ state, you can connect me with someone if you want,” lacks a clear intention or commitment to pursue real estate services.
  2. An indefinite plan like “I’m going to be moving in a few years, because of ‘XX’ reason” indicates a lack of immediate or concrete intent, making it less suitable for a referral.
  3. Expressing a desire to buy a house in “XX” state without having the necessary funds or income to support the endeavor does not constitute a viable referral, as the client’s financial capability is a crucial aspect for a successful transaction.

Keep in mind: The platform is intended to hand-off Buyers ready to Buy and Sellers ready to Sell.

  1. Assess their capacity to purchase, including evaluating their financial resources, job stability, and reasons for relocation.
  2. Identify the specific area they intend to move to, and note any additional important details about the entire geographical area. 
  3. Determine the timeframe for their decision-making process. If the decision is projected to be more than one year away without a clear plan or reason, exercise discretion before sending the referral.

Realay Platinum Agents are agents who have applied to join our national network and have passed a thorough vetting process. By default, your referral will be sent to a Platinum Agent in our network unless otherwise specified (associate or network).

Basic Criteria

  • Client Base Size: Affiliates should have a substantial client base, ideally with at least 300 active real estate agents, to ensure they have a sizable national network that can generate consistent referrals.
  • Referral Volume: Affiliates network must produce a minimum of 30 referrals per quarter.

Professional Experience and Reputation

  • Industry Experience: Affiliates should have experience in the real estate industry or related fields, demonstrating a good understanding of the market and client needs.
  • Reputation: Affiliates should have a strong reputation for professionalism and integrity within their industry, ensuring that their referrals are trusted and valued.

Marketing and Outreach Capabilities

  • Marketing Channels: Affiliates should have established marketing channels, such as email lists, social media presence, and a strong online presence, to effectively promote their Realay Network.
  • Engagement Rate: Affiliates should have high engagement rates on their marketing platforms, indicating an active and responsive audience.

Alignment and Compatibility

  • Target Audience Alignment: The affiliate’s client base should align with the target audience of Realay.
  • Compatibility: Affiliates should demonstrate an understanding of the Realay platform and how it benefits their clients, ensuring they can effectively communicate its value.

Compliance and Ethical Standards

  • Compliance with Regulations: Affiliates should comply with all relevant industry regulations and ethical standards, ensuring legal and ethical referral practices.

Support and Collaboration

  • Willingness to Collaborate: Affiliates should be open to regular communication and collaboration with Realay to optimize strategies and address any issues.
  • Training Participation: Affiliates should be willing to participate in training sessions to fully understand Realay and its benefits, ensuring accurate and effective promotion.

Adhering to these guidelines, will ensure a seamless process for managing referrals and improving bi-lateral agent communication. 

UNREAD The referral has been sent but not yet viewed by the receiving agent. It remains pending until acknowledged.

  1. Status Update to READ – Referral Acknowledgment.
    You will receive a TEXT notification from the Realay operations team and an email alert regarding the referral in your Realay Dashboard. Please acknowledge back to TEXT notification.  Initial Client Outreach, Expectation, within 24 hours of receiving the referral. Document attempts to contact the client in notes.
  2. Status Update to ENGAGED. 
    Once you have successfully connected or communicated with the client. This includes nurturing while awaiting pre-approval or other particulars.
  3. Status Update to SEARCHING.
    When you are actively providing searches and assisting them in finding a property.
  4. Status Update to LISTED
    When the property has officially been Listed for sale.
  5. Status Update toUNDER CONTRACT     
    When all parties involved have reached a mutual agreement on the terms of the sale. Provide details in the presented populated form.
  6.   Status Update to CLOSED
    Successful completion of the real estate transaction. Funds dispersed.
  7. Status Update to DEAD
    When you stop actively pursuing the client. Add notes to explain the reason for this status change. This could be due to the client no longer pursuing the transaction, a lack of fit between the agent and client, or other reasons that halt the process.
